It is very complicated with many details but I can try to explain in short words
Inactivated COVID structures in vaccine enter our blood and *mimics* real COVID. Our immune cells react to this foreign COVID structure (vaccine) and through a complicated process, it makes our cells detect and block real covid (if in contact) very early on
1) Vaccine pretends to act as actual covid virus
2) immune cells react to foreign virus and prepare to fight it and rid it, by creating antibodies. These specific Antibodies attach to this specific viruses and tells certain cells to break down and kill the virus cells
3) this process eventually creates memory immune cells that can detect this virus long term if they see it again in the future.
4) when the vaccinated person is in contact with real Covid virus, the antibodies will detect and attach to the virus immediately, which makes our body kill and break down the virus fast
